We are seeking an experienced and strategic Benefits Consultant to join our sales organization. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our clients by providing expert guidance on selecting, quoting, and managing employee benefits plans. This role requires a deep understanding of the benefits landscape, exceptional client advisory skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service. The Benefits Consultant will also oversee ongoing benefits enrollments, manage renewals, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Client Consultation & Advisory:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients seeking guidance on employee benefits options.
    • Understand clients' business needs, workforce demographics, and budget constraints to provide tailored benefits solutions.
    • Offer expert advice on plan selection, benefits design, and compliance considerations.
    • Prepare and present comprehensive benefits proposals, including cost analysis and recommendations.
  1. Quoting & Plan Selection:
    • Lead the quoting process by collaborating with insurance carriers and benefits providers to obtain competitive rates.
    • Assist clients in comparing plan options, including health, dental, vision, retirement, disability, and other voluntary benefits.
    • Negotiate with carriers to secure the best possible rates and coverage for clients.

  1. Benefits Enrollment & Administration:
    • Oversee the entire benefits enrollment process, including initial setup, employee onboarding, and ongoing administration.
    • Coordinate with payroll and benefits operations teams to ensure smooth integration of benefits with payroll systems.

  1. Renewals & Plan Management:
    • Lead the annual benefits renewal process, including reviewing existing plans, evaluating new options, and communicating changes to clients.
    • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to proactively recommend plan adjustments.
    • Work closely with clients to address any issues that arise during the benefits plan year and offer solutions for continuous improvement.

  1. Team Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other departments, including sales, operations, account management, and customer support, to drive client success.
    • Develop and implement strategies to grow the employee benefits division and expand service offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CEBS, PHR) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in employee benefits, insurance brokerage, or related field, with a focus on client advisory.
  • Working knowledge of Medical, Dental, Vision, retirement as well as ancillary benefits plans in the US within PEO settings 
  • Proven track record of successfully managing benefits enrollments, renewals, and plan selection.
  • Health and life insurance license or willingness to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with carriers and benefits providers.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
