OpenAI Gears Up for ‘Project Strawberry’ Launch

OpenAI is reportedly preparing to launch a new AI model, code-named Strawberry, which promises to significantly enhance reasoning capabilities in solving complex problems. Expected to be integrated into ChatGPT by this fall, Strawberry could represent a major advancement in AI intelligence, allowing it to handle subjective topics and complex puzzles with greater efficiency. Additionally, OpenAI is using Strawberry to generate high-quality training data for another secretive model, code-named Orion, which may further improve AI agents' ability to automate multi-step tasks. If successful, Strawberry could mark a key step towards achieving AGI as outlined in OpenAI's roadmap.

Anthropic Publishes AI System Prompts, Earning Praise for Transparency

Anthropic, a competitor to OpenAI, has gained praise for transparency by releasing the system prompts for its Claude family of AI models and committing to ongoing updates. These prompts, which outline the rules and behaviors guiding the AI's interactions, offer insights into each model's capabilities and quirks. While most companies keep such details private, Anthropic’s decision is seen as a move toward greater transparency in the AI industry. However, the company has not open-sourced the models themselves, retaining control over the source code, training data, and model settings.

China Challenges Tesla Optimus in the Humanoid Robotics Race

At the 2024 World Robot Conference in Beijing, Chinese companies made a bold statement by unveiling 27 humanoid robots alongside Tesla’s Optimus, signaling their ambition to lead the industry. Among the highlights were AGIBOT, showcasing robots powered by large language models for industrial and customer service applications, and Astribot’s S1, which demonstrated skills in calligraphy and music. Despite these advancements, experts highlight ongoing challenges such as technological barriers and high costs. While China may lag slightly behind the U.S. in AI, its aggressive push in humanoid robotics suggests that commercially available models could arrive sooner than anticipated.

AI Enhances Lung Cancer Diagnosis Accuracy

A research team from the University of Cologne has developed a digital pathology platform utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to improve lung cancer diagnosis. This platform, built on newly developed algorithms, enables fully automated analysis of digitized tissue samples from lung cancer patients, enhancing the speed and accuracy of tumor analysis. This innovation marks a significant advancement in digital pathology, allowing for the extraction of additional information from tissue samples that would be impossible without AI.

Salesforce Introduces AI-Powered Sales Agents

Salesforce has launched two autonomous AI-powered sales agents, Einstein SDR Agent and Einstein Sales Coach Agent, designed to boost sales growth through automation and personalization. The Einstein SDR Agent engages with leads around the clock, addressing inquiries, overcoming objections, and scheduling meetings, while the Einstein Sales Coach Agent assists salespeople in refining their pitches and provides real-time feedback during calls. These AI agents utilize Salesforce’s CRM data and external data from Data Cloud to generate precise and relevant responses. Set to be available in October, these tools aim to simplify AI adoption in business, automating routine tasks and enabling sales teams to focus on more

critical activities, potentially increasing deal closures.

Q&Ai

How to prove humanity online?

As AI agents become increasingly sophisticated, distinguishing them from real humans online is becoming more challenging. In response, researchers from MIT, OpenAI, Microsoft, and other institutions have proposed the concept of "personhood credentials" to verify human users while preserving privacy. These credentials would allow individuals to prove their humanity online without revealing personal details, addressing the risks of digital imposters and AI-driven disinformation. The researchers emphasize the need for careful implementation to ensure security and trust, while urging governments and companies to prepare for a future where AI could seamlessly blend into human interactions online.

How Will AI Advancements Impact User-Generated Content?

The rise of the creator economy, driven by platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and Substack, has empowered independent creators to directly reach audiences and monetize their content. However, the advent of generative AI, which can produce text, images, and even music based on simple prompts, poses a new challenge to this industry. While some see AI as a tool to enhance creativity and efficiency, others fear it could overshadow human originality by mass-producing content with repetitive patterns.
